They\u2019re found in certain vegetables, legumes, grains, dairy products, and sweets.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #464749;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #464749;\">In some people, especially those with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), FODMAPs can cause bloating, stomach pain, diarrhea, and gas. Today, 10\u201315% of the population lives with IBS. However, a low-FODMAP diet greatly improved their gastrointestinal health.&nbsp;<\/p><p style=\"font-size: 18px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; color: #464749;\"><br><\/p><p style=\"font-size: 18px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; color: #464749;\"><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">In fact, about 5% of the population is intolerant to FODMAPs and does better on a low-FODMAP diet to avoid painful and unwanted symptoms.<\/span><br><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 18px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; color: #464749;\">\n<\/p><p style=\"font-size: 18px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; color: #464749;\">\n<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cc49af1 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"cc49af1\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3d20f87 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"3d20f87\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8415d29 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8415d29\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"font-size: 18px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; color: #464749;\">What\u2019s more, up to 86% of people with IBS have seen an improvement in their gastrointestinal health and relief from their symptoms after adopting a low-FODMAP diet.<\/p><p style=\"font-size: 18px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; color: #464749;\"><br><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 18px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; color: #464749;\">That said, FODMAPs are soluble fibers that can be good for your health. There\u2019s no need to follow such a diet or cut out good foods if you don\u2019t have an intolerance. In fact, FODMAPs are beneficial for most people and are often under-consumed in modern diets.
